How Safegrows works, from files to a delivered unit

The whole path in five steps: your files, the fit check, one price, the operator's review, and a verified shop that builds, tests and ships the unit.

The short version

You send a circuit board and the case it lives in, or design both in the studio. Safegrows measures the board against the case, prices the whole build as one number, and the operator reviews the order before a verified shop builds, tests and ships 1 to 50 finished units.

Each step below has an article of its own. Read them in order the first time; after that, search the help for the one line you need.

Step 1: bring a board and its case

Upload a KiCad board file, or a Gerber outline with its drill file, and an STL or STEP file for the case. No files yet? Start from a template in the studio, where the case is drawn around the board for you.

Step 2: measure one against the other

The fit check puts the board in the case and measures the gap to each wall, the depth, the mounting holes against the standoffs and, for a board and case drawn in the studio, each connector against its wall opening. Every line prints the measured number beside the required one. A run costs $19.00.

Step 3: ask for one price

Ask for a build quote for 1 to 50 units. The estimate arrives at once, line by line: boards, parts, the case, hand assembly, our service, and the $25.00 operator review. The operator confirms it or revises it, and you approve the number.

Step 4: the operator reviews the order

Your approval sends the order straight to the operator, who reads your files, your latest fit report, the price and the shop chosen to build it. Nothing is made until the operator starts fabrication with a verified shop assigned, and the software refuses that move from anyone else.

Step 5: a verified shop builds, tests and ships

The shop fabricates the boards and the case, assembles the unit, powers it on and records photos of it, then hands it to a carrier with tracking. Every stage change lands in your order history.

What Safegrows does not do yet

  • No shop is verified yet. A listing marked Demo is an example, not a real company.
